Conditions Treated

There are many ways in which neurological conditions can be classified.

One way is to examine the level of the neural axis affected.  For example, is the brain affected? Or spinal cord, nerve roots/plexus, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction or muscle?

Another approach is to look at causes of neurological disease – infection (meningitis/encephalitis), lack of blood supply as in stroke, inflammation as seen in multiple sclerosis, drug-induced causes, genetic aetiologies, cancer-related or degenerative (Parkinson's disease / Alzheimer’s disease) causes.

However, perhaps the most traditional & straightforward classification is a breakdown into the principal neurological disorders. Some of these are found on the right – browse at leisure. I do hope that you find these of interest.
